New Healthcare Policy: Changes to Emergency Service Charges
Following a policy update by the Health Minister on April 13, several key changes have been introduced regarding eligibility for publicly funded healthcare services in Jersey.
The update primarily affects visitors and newly arrived work permit holders. These changes ensure that healthcare resources are managed sustainably while providing necessary support for those joining the local workforce.
Key Policy Changes
Charges for Visitors: Visitors to Jersey will now be charged for emergency healthcare services unless their home country has a Reciprocal Health Agreement with Jersey.
Emergency Department Treatment: £325
Ambulance Services: £475
Support for Work Permit Holders: In a positive shift for the workforce, work permit holders will now receive necessary follow-up care after an emergency free of charge during their first six months on the island.
The Government is currently updating all digital platforms to reflect these changes. In the interim, businesses and residents are encouraged to review the official policy documents and summary materials to ensure they are providing accurate information to guests and staff.
