DFDS updates schedule around special Muratti sailing

DFDS has made changes to its regular sailing schedule to accommodate the special inter-island sailing on the 17 May. The one-off return trip between Jersey and Guernsey will enable football fans to travel to Guernsey to watch the Women’s and Men’s Muratti Vase finals.

In response to an overwhelming demand to travel to Guernsey for the inter-island football matches, DFDS has cancelled two sailings and delayed another by an hour, to make room for the special sailing. All affected customers have been contacted and informed of changes to their bookings, as well as assisted with alternative arrangements.

The affected sailings are:

• 16 May, departing Jersey for Portsmouth at 2110 (cancelled)

• 17 May, departing Portsmouth for Jersey at 0900 (cancelled)

• 17 May, departing Jersey for Portsmouth at 2110 (now departing at 2210).

Sailings for the MurattiVase matches on 17 May will be leaving Jersey at 7:30am, arriving in Guernsey at 9:30am, with the return departure from Guernsey at 7pm.

Chris Parker, Route Director for Jersey at DFDS, said: “We apologise for the inconvenience caused by our schedule update and will be making sure all customers have been contacted and offered assistance if it is required.

“The Muratti is an important occasion for the islands and we are proud to be supporting it with this special return sailing.”
