Nov 10, 2020

The States Assembly has voted to reject Senator Kristina Moore’s proposed vote of no confidence (VONC) in the Chief Minister, Senator John Le Fondré. This means the Chief Minister and his remaining Council of Ministers will remain in post.

The States Assembly will meet as usual on Tuesday 17 November, at which meeting the Chief Minister will be invited to nominate a States Member to become Minister for Children and Housing, in place of Senator Sam Mézec.

The following Assistant Minister posts may be filled by the relevant Ministers (with the consent of the Chief Minister) in due course:

  • Assistant Minister for Health and Social Services
  • Assistant Minister for Economic Development, Tourism, Sport and Culture
  • Assistant Minister for the Environment
