COVID-19 Vaccination Statistics

Apr 22, 2021

32% of Islanders are now fully vaccinated

The Covid-19 Vaccination Programme is well underway, with 32% of Islanders aged over 18 now fully vaccinated (received both doses).

Most recent figures, up to Sunday 18 April, include the numbers of vaccinations offered to people aged between 40-44. The vaccination roll-out of this age group began on 14 April, and within this 4-day period, 38% of 40-44-year olds had already received their first dose.

The vaccination roll out for Islanders aged 45-49 years old started on 12 April. Figures reveal that 57% of that age group received their first dose.

Other key figures as at Sunday 18 April include:

  • 57% of all Islanders aged over 18 have received the first dose
  • 77,185 first and second dose vaccines have been administered
  • 95% of 80+ are fully vaccinated
  • 91% of care home residents are fully vaccinated
  • 87% of care home staff are fully vaccinated
  • 67% of clinically extremely vulnerable (high risk) are fully vaccinated
  • 71.60 doses per 100 people in the population

Second doses of the vaccine continue to be delivered between 4 and 12 weeks after the date of the first dose and are by invitation only. Islanders need not contact the Coronavirus helpline to book their second appointment. They will be contacted by the Vaccination Team.

Minister for Health and Social Services, Deputy Richard Renouf, said: “I am pleased to see that one third of the Island’s adult population is now fully vaccinated. We are making consistently good progress, and the uptake from Islanders in their 40s has been very positive.

“I urge Islanders to continue attending their vaccination appointments and follow the public health guidance so that we can continue enjoying the easing of restrictions, in the knowledge that more of the population are getting vaccinated.”
