Physical distancing advice for coronavirus

Dec 04, 2020

On the advice of the Medical Officer of Health, the Government of Jersey has agreed that the physical distancing requirement will move to 2 metres from today, Friday 4 December.

Physical distancing means everyone in Jersey should observe the following principles strictly:

  • reduce contact with people outside your household
  • keep a distance of at least 2 metres between you and other people when outside your own home (the change from 1 metre to 2 metres came into effect on 4 December)
  • avoid public gatherings and all venues and businesses where physical distancing is not obviously possible or promoted by the venue
  • stay home whenever possible, including working and studying from home whenever it is possible to do so.
