Liberation 75: Flying flags for Liberation Day

May 05, 2020

The Bailiff, Mr Timothy Le Cocq, invites all organisations and households who can fly flags to put the Jersey and Union flags up to mark the build-up to Liberation 75.

This initiative will build on the request to fly flags for the frontline staff responding to COVID-19 and will demonstrate our solidarity and the closeness of our community at this challenging time.

Flags should be flown from 8am on Tuesday 5 May until sunset on Sunday 10 May to mark the Liberation 75 holiday weekend.

The Bailiff says, ”We have recently flown flags and hung bunting to support the efforts of our frontline workers who are responding to the COVID-19 virus. Following the issuing of bunting from my Chambers to households last week, I would like to encourage all households to fly the Jersey flag to support the build up to Liberation Day. This will be a simple demonstration of our community coming together under difficult circumstances.”
