Government shares its Covid-19 experience

Oct 14, 2020

The Government of Jersey’s response to Covid-19 is the subject of a presentation being given at a virtual Microsoft conference today (Wednesday 14 October), with an international audience from across Europe, Middle East, and Africa.

In his presentation, Gary Bowles, Group Director of Modernisation and Digital, covers the impact of the pandemic on Jersey, how the Island has managed its borders through a Safer Travel policy, and the opportunity this work has presented for doing things differently in the future.

Gary said: “This is an important opportunity to tell a wider audience about how Jersey’s systems were designed to respond to Covid-19, and how our unique ‘Booking and Test System’ was created to safely manage movement through our borders.

“The speed of our response meant that we had to innovate and find technological solutions to ensure we were able to keep Islanders and visitors safe, as well as implementing new ways of working for many colleagues across the Government of Jersey.”
