Do it for Jersey - Staycation Campaign Launch

Mar 17, 2021

Visit Jersey have launched a local campaign to engage 106,000 islanders who may be longing for a well-deserved break and entice them to take a holiday at home, through a creative campaign called ‘Do it for Jersey’.

The idea behind ‘Do it for Jersey’ is to support Jersey’s travel and hospitality recovery by encouraging locals to take a staycation in Jersey and provide a much-needed boost to tourism operators around the island.

The campaign will showcase a host of bookable experiences on offer in Jersey, giving locals the opportunity to plan and look forward to a holiday at home.

Amanda Burns, CEO of Visit Jersey, commented: “We know that a key part of the excitement of a holiday starts with the planning and exploration stage. Islanders know Jersey better than most visitors but there are still many undiscovered gems and experiences on our island waiting to be enjoyed by locals, so we wanted to develop a humorous and inspirational campaign that evokes the pride and passion for our island and supporting Jersey jobs and businesses, whilst also enabling a well-deserved holiday experience.”

Meryl Laisney, Head of Product at Visit Jersey, who led the campaign said: “The playful campaign reminds islanders it’s no sacrifice to holiday at home, when your home happens to be one of the most beautiful and enviable places in the world. With a rousing call-to-arms: ‘Do it for Jersey!’ We are still telling the honest narrative that the tourism industry needs you to step up and go on staycation, but the big secret? You might just enjoy it (but keep it under your sun-hat!)”

The campaign, delivered in partnership with local creative agency North, will drive local residents through to a dedicated hub on Jersey.com showcasing inspiring content, product experiences, daily deals and promotional staycation offers. We will also run an ambassador content series through social media with local influencers to urge islanders to take a proper staycation in Jersey.
