Vice-Chair of the States Employment Board, Connétable Richard Buchanan, said: “The Early in Careers programme offers a great range of opportunities for Islanders from different backgrounds. I am delighted that we can offer such a broad range of interesting and varied options.

“Through programmes such as internships and apprenticeships, we’re aiming to offer people a head-start in a rewarding career in public service, while investing in our home-grown talent.”

Minister for Children and Education, Deputy Scott Wickenden, said: "Apprenticeships are a great way for people to start their careers: as well as gaining an industry-recognised qualification, they’ll also have on-the job experience to prepare them for their professional life.

“Programmes like this are vital to ensuring that the Government – and the Island more widely – can benefit from homegrown talent.”
