Offshore Payroll becomes Ocerli, marking a new chapter in payroll software

Offshore Payroll has rebranded as Ocerli, reflecting the evolution of its platform, its ambition, and its long-term vision for payroll software.

For more than 20 years, the business has supported organisations operating in specialist jurisdictions with payroll support that is compliant, reliable and built on deep expertise. As the platform has evolved, so too has its purpose. The move to Ocerli marks a clearer focus on the future of payroll: simple, powerful and seamless by design.

The name Ocerli is derived from the Jèrriais word meaning “to dare”. It reflects a mindset rooted in Channel Islands heritage, while looking firmly to the future. Distinctive and confident, the name signals a business willing to challenge convention and rethink how payroll software should work, without losing sight of the people and trust at its core.

“Our new name reflects who we are today,” said Mike Edward, Managing Director at Ocerli. “We are not a new player, but we are moving forward with sharper focus and smarter software. Ocerli represents progress, clarity and confidence for our customers and for the teams who rely on payroll to just work.”

Founded in Guernsey in 2004 as Offshore Payroll Limited, the company expanded across Jersey, the Isle of Man and other jurisdictions with complex tax and social frameworks. In 2020, following acquisition by a local consortium led by its four directors, the business accelerated investment in people and technology, transforming its desktop product into a cloud-based payroll platform developed in-house by payroll specialists and software engineers.

Today, Ocerli is trusted by thousands of businesses, from local employers and outsourced payroll providers to complex financial organisations. Its platform combines built-in compliance, cloud-based flexibility, smarter automation and dedicated human support, taking the stress out of payroll and turning administration into insight.

The rebrand also sets the foundation for the next phase of growth. In 2026, Ocerli plans to expand its software capabilities to support UK payroll, including PAYE, National Insurance, RTI and pension functionality. A redesigned user experience, guided onboarding workflows, enhanced analytics and deeper integrations with HR and accounting systems will support this.

“Payroll is changing,” added Edward. “Businesses want confidence, visibility and a partner that grows with them. Ocerli is built for complexity, yet designed for ease, and we are just getting started.”

Ocerli remains committed to serving specialist jurisdictions while extending its proven approach to a wider market. This evolution reinforces a simple belief that has guided the business for over two decades: payroll should be something you trust, not something you worry about.

Ocerli. Payroll Perfected.
