A Marathon of Skills: Local Leader Auctions Expertise for NSPCC Jersey

Kevin Alway, has announced an innovative new fundraising initiative to support the NSPCC Jersey as he prepares to run the 2026 London Marathon. Dubbed the "Skills Auction," the initiative invites local professionals and businesses to donate their time and expertise, with all proceeds going to the vital children's charity.

Kevin, who serves as the Operations and Communications Lead for Macmillan Cancer Support Jersey, holds a deep commitment to community welfare. In addition to his role at Macmillan, he is a board member for Centrepoint and an Honorary Policeman for St Helier. His diverse community roles highlight his dedication to strengthening local support systems.

"This initiative provides a unique way for businesses and professionals to come together and support young people on our island," Alway said. "It's about strengthening the provisions that safeguard and inspire the next generation—who may one day become leaders in our community themselves."

The Skills Auction offers a unique opportunity for individuals and organizations to contribute to a meaningful cause in a way that goes beyond a traditional monetary donation. By auctioning off services, from professional consultations to unique skill-based workshops, the initiative leverages the island's rich pool of talent to raise vital funds for NSPCC Jersey.

A recent article in the Bailiwick Express provides further details on the initiative. Those interested in donating their skills or learning more about the auction can read the full story.
