Islanders encouraged to ‘Check and Choose’
As the Island counts down to Election Day on Sunday 7 June, residents are encouraged to take action now in preparation.
CHECK:
Following the introduction of Automatic Voter Registration, Islanders are reminded that they should check their Voter Status, including their name, address and voting constituency on the Electoral Register via one of two means:
Online: Vote.je has a new online look-up where Islanders can check their Voter Status 24x7. Login verification can be completed using either Yoti or Jersey Me.
Contact your Parish Hall: Islanders can telephone or visit their Parish Hall in person to confirm their registration. Contact details for all the Parish Halls can be found on vote.je/contact-us.
The Automatic Voter Registration system uses Employment, Social Security & Housing records held by the Government of Jersey to populate the Electoral Register, including eligibility to vote. Islanders are encouraged to check their Voter Status to ensure their details are correct, particularly their address as this will impact where they vote and who they can vote for.
Anyone expecting to be on the register who finds that they are not can still join the Supplementary Register up until 12 noon on 28 May to vote on Election Day.
Due to manual changes being made to the register this Friday, Islanders aged 19 or under are advised to please wait until Saturday 23 May before checking their Voter Status or taking any further action.
