Grant Thornton Channel Islands Promotes Sergio Gouveia to Tax Senior Manager
Grant Thornton Channel Islands are pleased to announce the promotion of Sergio Gouveia to Senior Manager in the Tax team effective from 1 July 2026.
Sergio Gouveia (pictured) provides advice for offshore structures that have exposure to UK tax in ensuring structures are fit for purpose, assisting with any restructuring as well as assisting trustees on the orderly closure of trust structures. He is ATT qualified and currently studying towards CTA.
Commenting on Sergio’s promotion, Neil Hoolahan, Tax Partner in Guernsey said, “It has been great to see Sergio’s progress over time, and this promotion reflects the contribution he continues to make to the team and to our clients.’’
Grant Thornton is also celebrating a series of promotions in its Audit team, Albert Donkor, Hamza Saeed, and Shaira Albis have all been promoted to Audit Manager.
Albert is a Chartered Accountant with over five years’ experience auditing financial services entities, with a strong focus on private equity and alternative investment structures. His audit experience includes private equity funds and structures with underlying investments across the UK and Europe, as well as Jersey‑based funds and regulated financial services businesses.
Hamza Saeed is an ACCA qualified audit professional with more than seven years of experience across a range of industries. He has significant experience in financial services, private equity, real estate and banking, and has worked with clients in Jersey, the UK, Ireland and the Middle East and North Africa region.
Shaira Albis, is a Certified Public Accountant (Philippines) with over seven years of external audit experience across a range of industries. She has led audits of both listed and non-listed entities, with significant experience in the funds, real estate, insurance, and service sectors.
Outside of the audit team, Fiona Ashworth has been promoted to Payroll Advisory Manager. She brings over 25 years’ experience across a wide range of sectors, specialising in payroll management, bookkeeping, management accounts, financial reporting, group consolidation and systems implementation.
