DFDS, the Danish ferry operator, commenced its new ferry service to Jersey on 28 March 2025, following a 20-year contract with the island's government. The service connects Jersey with Poole and Portsmouth in the UK, and Saint-Malo in France, utilizing a fleet comprising high-speed craft, a Ro-Pax vessel, and a dedicated freight ship. DFDS plans to invest in three new vessels by 2032 to enhance capacity and reliability, aiming to support both essential freight transport and tourism.
