Company Description: Trading in the Channel Islands since 1919, the Coop has gone from humble beginnings as a small St Helier corner shop to one of the largest retailers in both Jersey and Guernsey, spanning across a range of businesses — from groceries to fuel and from pharmacies to funeral care. Derived on the founding principles of cooperative trade, profits are returned to shareholders and all Coop Members have an equal vote on company policy at the AMM. In 2022, £5.5 million of profits was given back to Members and Coop spent £8.2 million with local suppliers last year. They also donated £300,000 to 240 local charities over the last 12 months.
