Company Description: The Jersey Opera House is a prominent cultural venue located in St. Helier, and has served as a hub for the Jersey community for various performing arts, including opera, theater, dance, music, and comedy for 125 years! Originally built as the New Theatre Royal and Opera House, it underwent several renovations and expansions over the years. In 1900, it was renamed the Opera House and Royal Hall. As a registered charity (Charity ref number 60) the Jersey Opera House relies on the generosity of members, individuals, companies and charitable foundations to help deliver inspiring screenings and live performances to as wide audience as possible. In April 2025, the Jersey Opera House will emerge from its five-year hibernation, reclaiming its role as a cultural cornerstone of the community. The re-imagined and re-modelled Jersey Opera House will be a beacon of creativity where the performing arts are a central and enriching part of the community, and a vital ‘legacy’ intervention for the Arts Strategy. Its mission is to passionately connect our diverse community with the transformative power of live art; educating, entertaining and empowering audiences.
