Insights from our President, Adam Budworth, April 2025
Reasons to be cheerful - year three. As I reach my final three months of three years As the President of Chamber, it’s a good time to evaluate and reflect.
Let’s start with an overview of Chamber:
The Jersey Chamber of Commerce is the largest and most influential business organisation in the Channel Islands, representing a broad spectrum of industries. With a history spanning over 250 years, Chamber serves as the voice of business, driving policy discussions, fostering connections, and providing platforms for businesses to thrive. Chamber’s extensive networking opportunities enable businesses to build relationships, share ideas, and collaborate across sectors. Our regular events, attended by over 3,000 business leaders, entrepreneurs, and policymakers, providing a unique environment for professional growth and business development.
As the primary business advocacy group in Jersey, Chamber actively engages with the Government of Jersey, ensuring that the concerns of local businesses are heard at the highest level. Whether through consultations, direct lobbying, or expert-led discussions, we play a critical role in shaping economic policies that impact the island’s business community. Chamber’s influence extends beyond events and meetings. Our newsletter reaches thousands of local businesses and decision-makers, providing timely updates on key economic and legislative developments. Additionally, Connect Magazine, a leading business publication, serves as a platform for thought leadership, insights, and in-depth analysis of Jersey’s business landscape.
By joining the Jersey Chamber of Commerce, businesses gain access to unparalleled networking, influential advocacy, and high-profile communication channels, ensuring they stay ahead in a competitive and ever-evolving market.
It’s not all being out there publicly either . What happens behind the scenes have been both fascinating and powerful. How we operate, our style, tone and the facilities we have to do this in is also important. Chamber enjoys having its own offices and through prudently curating the business we have maintained that position. We are now in a stronger position to invest in our base as an HQ from which our skilled team can run the operation, and one that the Chamber committees and the wider membership can use too. If you pass our Pier Road offices you’ll see scaffolding, as we redecorate this building, and as we do so the collective minds of the Chamber board are now set on creating a new focal point for Chamber in the months ahead.
Plenty of reasons to be cheerful and be a Chamber member too.
