Jersey's Future Under Scrutiny: Dr Andrew McLaughlin, Government of Jersey CEO, speaking at a packed Chamber Lunch on January 23rd 2025, challenged the current model of the island and highlighted the growing challenges within our democracy. As the world order shifts, Dr McLaughlin argued that Jersey may find its position as a safe and stable jurisdiction as an asset, while acknowledging the need for tough conversations on how we regulate, spend and encourage investment, to navigate the uncertain future.
The Chief Minister has now initiated a series of high-level discussions to explore potential pathways forward.
