The Chief Minister met the UK Prime Minister

The Chief Minister met the UK Prime Minister, Sir Keir Starmer MP, at the Labour Party Conference in Liverpool this week to strengthen ties with the new UK Government.

Deputy Lyndon Farnham also met the Chancellor of the Exchequer, Rachel Reeves MP, as well as the Secretary of State for Business and Trade, Jonathan Reynolds MP. The main subject of discussions was the promotion of economic growth and cooperation between Jersey and the UK.

The Chief Minister was at the Labour Party Conference to promote Jersey’s interests and was accompanied by the Minister for External Relations, Deputy Ian Gorst.

During the conference the Jersey Ministers also met senior European ambassadors to the UK, including those from France, Germany and Switzerland, to further develop the Island’s diplomatic relations.
