Retails & Supply Committee

Retails & Supply Committee

The Retail and Supply committee meet monthly, its purpose is to represent all retailers in Jersey and seek to positively support and encourage a viable and sustainable retail industry within Jersey.

We work with all key stakeholders, groups and government in a consultative, informative and advisory capacity. We are keen to support and work with Jersey Business and the Economic Development Tourism, Sport and Culture (EDTSC)  in achieving a consistent and joined up approach to developing the retail sector.

We believe the Retail Strategy should reflect current conditions so sound decisions can be made on the potential threats and opportunities that exist for island retailers.

The committee is made up of leading retail and supply industry representatives who come from a variety of businesses across the island.

Nigel Holliday

Chair Retail & Supply Committee

Nigel is the Managing Director of Cimandis, the largest foodservice provider across the Channel Islands.  Nigel works with some of the finest restaurants, hotels and food outlets with the company based in Jersey, Guernsey, Alderney & also offering a supply service to Herm & Sark.

Nigel started his career in the UK hospitality industry, living and working in family-owned hotels from a young age. This was the foundation for his enthusiasm and experience for customer service and understanding the demands of running a business.

Nigel graduated with a bachelor’s degree in business management and started working for BAE systems in the aeronautical industry during 2005.  Working in the commercial pricing division, he was involved in negotiating with the US Department of Defence on multi million-pound contracts in the UK, and in the US Dallas Fort Worth.

Nigel moved to the Channel Islands in 2009, and started working for the Jersey Royal Company. Initially employed as Procurement Manager, Nigel quickly transitioned back to his commercial roots and ran the commercial team for their sister company the Kent Potato Company.  He successfully launched them with direct supply into the UKs largest retailer Tesco.

Nigel worked for the Jersey Royal Company for 15 years, most of those as their Commercial Director and was able to work with every major supermarket in the UK, giving him a deep understanding of the retail marketplace.  Over the years Nigel has hosted many visitors to the island showcasing the islands biggest brand Jersey Royal New potatoes, working with industry bodies, Jersey Government and various other sectors.

In 2023 Nigel took on his current role of Managing Director for Cimandis Foodservice, where he remains today.
