Employment and Skills

The Employment & Skills Committee acts in a consultative capacity with a number of private and government bodies during the course of the year to ensure Members have a view.

This active committee has consulted upon, provided insights and ran sessions on anti discrimination laws, changes to the main employment law, minimum wage, and the tribunal procedures. The committee is made up from volunteers with varied HR backgrounds so that businesses of different industry sectors can be represented.

Claire Reynard

Claire Reynard is the Group Human Resources Manager at Seymour Hotels, where she leads the Group's people strategy, overseeing recruitment, learning and development, employee engagement, and organisational development across its hotels and businesses.

Claire has over 20 years' experience in human resources within the hospitality industry, with a strong focus on developing people, building positive workplace cultures, and supporting operational teams. Throughout her career, she has worked closely with managers to attract, develop, and retain talented employees while promoting employee wellbeing and engagement.

Seymour Hotels has received significant recognition for its people-first culture, winning Jersey's Best Workplace – Large Enterprise 2024 and the Jersey's Best Workplace 2025 Wellbeing Spotlight Award. These awards reflect the Group's commitment to creating an inclusive, supportive workplace where colleagues are empowered to develop, thrive and deliver exceptional guest experiences.

She is passionate about investing in local talent and works closely with schools, Highlands College, Skills Jersey, JET, and other industry partners to promote careers in hospitality, apprenticeships, and skills development.

Previously,Claire served as a Board Member of the Jersey Hospitality Association (JHA) and as a member of the CIPD Jersey Committee, supporting initiatives to develop skills, employment, and professional standards across the hospitality and HR sectors.
