Skills Fund

Chamber's Skills Fund

Introduction

The Jersey Chamber of Commerce Skills Fund, sponsored by Grant Thornton, has been created to provide an opportunity for additional funding for people who want to invest in themselves and their future, who want to upgrade their skills, knowledge and education.

The new Skills Fund, of up to £9,400 for 2019, which can be used singularly for one application or shared across a few, will be awarded through a simple application process that is open to everyone who currently resides in Jersey, aged 18+.

Its primary aim is to assist you in striving for your dream or a vision, whether it be to complete training or a college course, an NVQ, a diploma, a BTEC, a Foundation, an apprenticeship, a degree or other courses that underpin your working life.

If you are looking to invest in yourself, your skills, your future and give something back to Jersey, you are the ideal applicant.

Should you be successful, there are no obligations to use your Skills Fund award here in Jersey, or that you need to continue residing here. You are not required to pay us back*, but we do ask that you agree to communicate with us regularly with updates of how your experience is going. These updates will be used for Jersey Chamber of Commerce for marketing and news purposes and will be shared with the wider general public. By accepting your Skills Fund award you are agreeing to partake in social media, media requests and marketing / PR for the Skills Fund.

Grant Thornton have agreed to sponsor the Skills Fund for the next five years, enabling us to continue the award and supporting islanders in their personal and career development.

*Please note that we will monitor the use of funds to ensure they have been used for the intended purpose and reserve the right to withhold or claw back funds that are not being used as agreed.
