Jet2.com & Jet2holidays expands its Jersey programme for summer 2021

Oct 15, 2020

Ports of Jersey has confirmed that award-winning airline Jet2.com and its sister company Jet2holidays has today launched five new routes to Jersey for summer 2021.

Providing welcome positive news for the Island’s tourism sector, Jet2.com and Jet2holidays will add Birmingham, East Midlands, Manchester, Newcastle and London Stansted to its existing Leeds Bradford summer service, operating more than 200 flights from May 2021.  Along with a scheduled flight programme through the leasing leisure airline Jet2.com, ATOL protected package holidays, including a range of 3-5 star accommodation is also available with Jet2holidays, the UK’s second largest tour operator.

On behalf of Ports of Jersey, CEO Matt Thomas, confirmed:  “The growth we have agreed with Jet2.com and Jet2holidays for summer 2021 is a real demonstration of confidence in Jersey as a destination, and our tourism industry, as it plans for its recovery in 2021. The addition of these five new routes, on top of our established programme from Leeds Bradford, makes our beautiful Island available to many more visitors.  I would like to thank Senator Farnham and Visit Jersey for their tremendous support; it has been a real team effort to reach this agreement.  In the current climate this is a real boost for our tourism industry, and we look forward to building an even closer partnership with Jet2.com and Jet2holidays in the years ahead”

In response, Steve Heapy, CEO for Jet2.com and Jet2holidays is equally delighted to see an expansion to the Jersey programme, which he puts down to customer demand, and comments, “In addition to our existing programme from Leeds Bradford, this means we have a fantastic choice of weekend and midweek flights available to Jersey. On top of that, there are fantastic deals to be had, which means that holidaymakers have plenty of choice and flexibility when it comes to visiting this stunning island.”

Senator Lyndon Farnham, Deputy Chief Minister and Minister for Economic Development, Tourism, Sport and Culture says, “I am delighted that agreement has been reached with Jet2.com and Jet2holidays to launch five new routes to Jersey in 2021.  Jersey has enjoyed a longstanding partnership with Jet2.com since 2007. This provides a great opportunity for Islanders to visit family and friends in the UK through more regional airports and for more inbound visitors to experience all that Jersey has to offer.  I am particularly pleased to make this announcement at a critical time for our tourism sector and would like to thank Ports of Jersey, supported by Visit Jersey, for their efforts in making this happen”

The Jet2.com flight schedule for summer 2021 is as follows:

Birmingham: weekly Saturday service between 22 May – 25 September
East Midlands: weekly Saturday service between 22 May – 25 September
Manchester: three times weekly service on Tuesday, Thursday and Saturday between 20 May – 25 September
