The Assistant External Relations Minister, Deputy Ian Gorst, welcomed the Kenyan High Commissioner on Friday during a private visit to the island to discuss ways in which the two jurisdictions can collaborate more closely.
The value that Kenyan nationals already bring to the island both economically through their contributions to the hospitality and construction sectors as well as culturally to Island life and community groups was recognised, with benefits to both Jersey and Kenya. One area of discussion was the potential employment opportunities for Kenyans across Jersey’s health sector.
