Love to Ride - Bike Month

Apr 28, 2023

The challenge will be running between 1 and 31 May and is open to all Islanders - including new, infrequent, and regular cyclists. Those signed up to the challenge should log their rides and refer friends to Love to Ride to be entered into a local prize draw.

The Government of Jersey is encouraging Islanders to use the free cycling platform (app and website) in an aim to reduce the number of motor vehicles on our roads and improve general health and wellbeing - both of which will see environmental and health benefits. These aims may also fit in with companies’ corporate social responsibilities and staff wellbeing policies.

We are asking workplaces to encourage their employees to sign up to Love to Ride and incentivise cycle commutes to and from work.

Employees should select their workplace when signing up and creating their profile on Love to Ride. If the workplace is not listed, it is very easy to add a new workplace to the platform. Once signed up, employees should log their cycle rides and refer colleagues to sign up using a referral link on their profile.

Love to Ride’s first challenge ran throughout March and was a huge success seeing nearly 1,000 Islanders signing up. Jersey saw the most sign ups and rides logged compared to other regions in the UK.

There are various prizes up for grabs for this challenge, and employees will be able to win prizes for their workplace. Prizes include a visit from Lulu’s Ice Cream, a bike maintenance stand, West Park Fun Bikes, and vouchers for local eateries to use against a team meal.
