This is the Employment Forum’s sixteenth minimum wage rate recommendation.
Because of the Covid-19 pandemic, the Forum was unable to carry out its usual consultation exercises in 2020 and 2021.
In 2021, the then Minister for Social Security used Covid-19 enabling powers to set new minimum wage rates to take effect from 1 January 2022 in the absence of a Forum consultation and recommendation.
