Health and Community Staff Invited to Give Their Views on Options for New Healthcare Facilities

Mar 10, 2023

• Staff update on new healthcare facilities

• Staff opportunity to provide feedback

• Integral part of multi-site option

All employees across Health and Community Services have been invited to attend a series of drop-in workshops next week, to receive an update and provide feedback on the New Healthcare Facilities programme.

A series of 19 workshops will take place across five locations across the Island’s healthcare estate from Monday 13th to Wednesday 15th March.

The team will set out a number of scenarios for healthcare delivery across more than one site, and then will ask staff for their views on all the options presented.

The Minister for Infrastructure, Deputy Tom Binet, said:

“Following the Our Hospital Review, the New Healthcare Facilities Programme team have been asked by the Council of Ministers to progress a multi-site option for healthcare services.

“This involves looking at the clustering of healthcare to identify the best size and fit across possible locations including Overdale, the site adjacent to the General Hospital at Kensington Place, the Enid Quenault Health & Wellbeing Centre at Les Quennevais, and Rosewood House and Clinique Pinel in Saint Saviour.

“These drop-in sessions are an essential opportunity for the team to understand healthcare workers’ views on how services could be delivered in the future, over multiple sites.”

The Minister for Health and Social Services, said:

“Healthcare facilities must first and foremost meet the clinical and practical needs of our dedicated HCS staff and provide safe, efficient services for our patients and service users.

“I am very happy that the Programme team are taking this opportunity to have a series of open discussions about how services could be arranged across multiple sites, and to receive feedback.

“I would encourage all HCS staff, whatever their role, to attend and give their feedback on the options for their future workplaces.”

A further series of engagement with healthcare workers, community stakeholders and the public will take place in April 2023, as feasibility plans for healthcare delivery are developed.
