Closer to Home Event

Dec 02, 2022

Closer to home event focuses on cost of living and winter pressures.

The Government are delighted to host their next Closer to Home event on Thursday 8 December 2022, 3-6pm at the Salvation Army in Minden Place. This event will focus on the cost of living and winter pressures.

Islanders are invited to come along and speak to a range of service providers and receiveguidance on managing financial pressures during this challenging time. There will be over 20 services available, all in one place, with the aim of making sure that Islanders can access the support they need.

The services attending range from Citizens Advice Jersey, Housing Gateway & Safeguarding to Jersey Electricity. Islanders can also find out more about the Government’s Community Costs Bonus and, if eligible, apply at the event.

Minister for Social Security, Deputy Elaine Millar said. “It is important that we continue to provide the Closer to Home service and give Islanders the ease of accessing the services they may benefit from all-in-one place. The cost of living is affecting so many, and this event will support those Islanders that need support the most, by enabling them to speak to key organisations that can help.

“I would encourage people to attend and make the most of the advice available, to make sure they are accessing any support they need and are aware of services and benefits they could be entitled to.”
