Alcohol Pricing and Promotions Market Study
The impact of alcohol pricing strategies and promotions by licensed premises, is to be examined by the Jersey Competition Regulatory Authority (the Authority). The study has been requested by Jersey’s Attorney General following changes in the market and in international best practice.
Market studies explore whether a market is working well for Jersey consumers, and determine whether action is needed to address any issues found. The study will investigate the economic impact of the Attorney General’s Guidance (Licensing (Jersey) Law 1974) on Drinks pricing and promotions (Guidance) on the alcohol market in Jersey. There is a Frequently Asked Questions document attached to this e-mail containing more specific details on the planned market study.
The study will commence in October and take approximately four months to complete. The outcome of the study will be a published report which explains the approach, findings and, if identified, recommendations.
