Vaccine Statistics 12 Aug 2021

Aug 12, 2021

80% of adult Islanders fully vaccinated

The latest COVID-19 vaccination statistics as at Sunday 8 August, show that 86% of Islanders aged 18 and over have had at least one dose, and 80% are fully vaccinated.

This week, following advice from the JCVI, Islanders aged 16 and 17 became eligible for vaccination. Those Islanders can get their first dose at a Rock Up clinic or at Fort Regent’s Vaccination Centre by walking in or booking an appointment.

The Rock Up clinics will be running until this Sunday 15 August for first doses only. Islanders must bring a form of ID and are able to come with their friends to ask medical staff any questions they may have about the vaccine.

Other key statistics:

  • 84% of Islanders aged 16 years and over have had one dose
  • 96% of Islanders aged over 50 years old are fully vaccinated
  • 87% of Islanders aged over 30 years old are fully vaccinated
  • 64% of Islanders aged 18-29 years old have had one dose
  • 74,899 first doses have been administered
  • 69,997 second doses have been administered

Head of the Vaccination Programme, Becky Sherrington, said: “It is absolutely fantastic that we have reached this huge milestone. Four out of every five Islanders aged over 18 are fully vaccinated against Covid-19. This is a brilliant achievement for the Island and the vaccination team. I’d like to thank the community and the vaccination team once more for reaching this milestone, it shows how the Island has come together during a difficult and unprecedented time.

“Islanders are still coming forward for their first and second doses, and it is also great that 10% of 16 and 17-year olds came forward for their first dose in just three days of being eligible. Although the Rock Up clinics are coming to an end this Sunday, we will still be administering first and second doses at Fort Regent’s Vaccination Centre. We have plenty of supply so please do come and walk in for an appointment with your friends or family and if you have any questions, don’t hesitate to ask one of our medical staff who will be able to assist you.”

While walk-in appointments for first doses are available, Islanders can book their first dose online at the COVID-19 Vaccine Appointments page or by ringing the Covid helpline.

Islanders walking in for their second dose must ensure 28 days or more have passed since their first dose was administered.
