States Members Remuneration Review Body

May 03, 2019

Islanders invited to have their say on politicians’ salaries

The States Members Remuneration Review Body has today released a public survey asking islanders for their views on politicians’ pay in Jersey. The independent body was established in 2004 and is responsible for making recommendations on the appropriate level of pay for elected members of the States Assembly.

The Review Body has engaged local firm 4insight to conduct the survey, which is focused on possible changes to follow the next elections in 2022. In 2017 the Review Body set the level of States Members’ pay at £46,600 for the period from 2018 to 2022.

This is an opportunity to comment on and influence how Jersey's politicians are paid.

Members of the public are invited to participate in the survey by clicking HERE. The survey takes around 10 minutes to complete and participants have the chance to win £150.

The results of the survey are expected to be released in a report published by the Review Body in summer 2019.
