Scrutiny Review Panel to review Hospital Site Recommendation

Oct 02, 2020

The Scrutiny Review Panel has launched its review into the Hospital Site Recommendation

A site selection process has been undertaken by the Our Hospital Team within the Government of Jersey with a shortlist of 2 sites being announced on 4th September 2020.  With the final site announcement, imminent, the Panel has decided to undertake a targeted review focusing on the decision-making process in determining the final site recommendation, with particular regard to the following:

  • Fairness
  • Transparency
  • Appropriateness
  • Overall cost, affordability and value for money

Scrutiny Review Panel Chair, Senator Kristina Moore, commented: "it is important the process is scrutinised to determine whether the decision was undertaken with fairness and transparency and if it will deliver the best available site which will meet the needs of Islanders”

To inform its work, the Panel intends to hold public hearings with the Chief Minister and the Deputy Chief Minister in his role as Chair of the Our Hospital Political Oversight Group.  The Panel will also seek the views of industry experts and the general public to collect evidence with a public call for evidence published shortly.

The review is expected to last until the end of October with the debate due to take place in November.  The Panel will publish a report on its work, including any findings and recommendations in time for the debate.

You can also share your views with the panel via the States Assembly social media pages, via the ‘Get involved’ form on the States Assembly website or by emailing
