BACKGROUND
Eating Disorder Awareness Week highlights the experiences of people living with eating disorders and educates the public about eating disorders. It also raises awareness of all the people who support individuals with eating disorders.
o National Eating Disorder Charity BEAT is focusing on the impact of eating disorders on men. Men make up 25% of those who have eating disorders
CAMHS provides support for young people with eating disorders through:
o Providing an eating disorder clinic from 9am-5pm, Monday to Friday to provide direct support
o Offering a range of interventions, including evidence-based psychotherapy for eating disorders, and family-based intervention programmes
o Working closely with the YES Project, Youth Service, JEDS and The Man’s Club, MIND, to provide a range of support and referral pathways into CAMHS
